Henderson, CO. – Focus Points Family Resource Center (Focus Points) and Mile High Flea Market are teaming up for a charity toy drive to benefit local families in need this holiday season. Toys will be collected at Mile High Flea Market (7007 E. 88th Ave., Henderson, CO 80640) every weekend throughout the month of November.

The central drop-off location will be the main office of Mile High Flea Market, located in the middle of their grounds. Additional drop-off locations will be dispersed throughout the market. They are collecting donations of toys, books, blankets, jackets and holiday candy.

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Mile High Flea Market,” said Steven Moss, Executive Director of Focus Points. “The support of the community means everything to the families we serve, especially during the holiday season, and we are incredibly grateful for this opportunity.”

Focus Points is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded with a mission to build stronger communities by strengthening families. For more than 20 years, the organization has assisted low-income families in northeast Denver, and for the last 10 years, has concentrated its efforts in the heavily Latino neighborhoods of Globeville, Elyria and Swansea (GES).

Focus Points offers an array of services, including early childhood and adult education; job training and workforce development; health and wellness services; family advocacy; and more. Most recently, Focus Points launched Comal Heritage Food Incubator, a restaurant and learning-while-earning program that employs female culinary entrepreneurs in the River North Art District (RiNo) neighborhood.

The families who will benefit from this toy drive are enrolled in Focus Points’ early childhood education programs, such as Parents as Teachers (PAT), Home Instruction to Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), the Mile High Early Learning Center, and on-site drop-in childcare services.

Jessica Meeker, Marketing Director at Mile High Flea Market, said, “Our mission is to engage the community and provide happiness for people from all walks of life. We couldn’t think of a more deserving organization than Focus Points to support with a holiday toy drive, given the work they do to strengthen families across Denver.”
